Qualifications and responsibilities:

• Must possess a valid Missouri Professional Teacher and/or Missouri Substitute Teacher Certificate from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). You can apply for the substitute certificate through the DESE Website at dese.mo.gov. (Exception: If you are a teacher certified in the state of Missouri you do not need a substitute certificate)
• Background/Fingerprint check is required.
• Great organizational skills
• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
• Flexibility and ability to work as a team with other teachers
• Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to the changing needs of students, teachers, parents, and school staff.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

• Maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment
• Developing and maintaining positive student, teacher, staff and parent relationships
• Maintaining a high level of energy throughout the entire school day
• Leading and facilitating lessons plans and activities for students
• Encouraging and modeling positive and appropriate classroom behavior
• Maintaining a positive attitude and safe welcoming classroom environment
